About

Aymen Jamaaoui

Lead Java Developer · Backend & Full Stack

I am based in Île-de-France. For more than 15 years, I have designed and improved Java applications, from finance to the public sector, where reliability is not negotiable. Distributed microservices, real-time data flows, secure applications: I like work where every detail matters. I care about software craftsmanship. I write clean, tested and readable code that another developer can take over easily, years later.

What I do

Modernize, design, share

  • Modernize existing systems: improve applications in production step by step, without breaking anything for users.
  • Design distributed architectures: split a monolith into microservices, run in containers and deployed on Kubernetes.
  • Automate delivery: set up CI/CD pipelines to deliver often and with no surprises.
  • Secure applications: authentication, encrypted exchanges and fixing vulnerabilities.
  • Help the team grow: review code, help with technical choices and support developers.
  • Build with AI: use coding assistants and agents to go faster without losing quality.

Where I worked

Demanding institutions

I have been lucky to work for institutions where mistakes are not an option. At BNP Paribas Securities Services, I took part in the migration to T2S, the European platform for securities settlement, up to the production cutovers. At the Bibliothèque nationale de France (the French national library), I designed from scratch the legal deposit portal for moving images. At Euronext, the leading stock exchange operator in Europe, I led the rebuild of a tool that runs thousands of tests every day, without stopping the teams’ work.

Open source

Giving back to the community

I contribute to open source. Here are some projects I have contributed to:

  • QuickFIX/J: the open source Java implementation of the FIX protocol. GitHub →
  • Simple Binary Encoding (SBE): a very fast binary encoding library, used in finance. GitHub →
  • Floci: a local emulator of AWS services, written in Java with Quarkus. GitHub →
